  • Rejection again

Once again I was rejected from a potential job opportunity. After almost half an hour phone interview and an hour in person interview, the organization still felt I lack the experience they need for the position. I thought I was a good match for this particular position because I've been very much involved in this particular non-profit Christian organization as a university student and a volunteer for so many years. I seriously felt I fulfilled the qualifications they're looking for in a candidate. It just doesn't feel good to be rejected from jobs I've applied. I guess I just have to learn to take these jobs rejections not too deeply and move on. But, it does take time.

  • Observation of Homeowners

A thought just came into my mind. I've come to the conclusion that homeowners are becoming more frugal as they own their first home. From my personal observations, friends who bought a home or a condo have become more frugal and sometimes even not as warm as before.

  • Quiet, dramatic birthday

Today is quite an interesting day. I blew two big red candles and ate lemon meringue pie in the morning to celebrate my birthday. Throughout the day, I didn't do much really. I spent a majority of my day watching TV and the surfing the internet.  Later on, there was drama happening in my place of residence. Nonethless, it's an intense environment to be in.  My dad phoned me to wish me a happy birthday and started to lecture me on the need to plan my own birthday party and should not count on him to plan one since I'm a grown-up child now, etc. He couldn't celebrate with me today because he got sick and got all dramatic about his illness by claiming he might have swine flu. I didn't like what he said to me on the phone and told him it's my birthday and I don't feel like being lectured.  Geez,  I'm not about big parties and lots of people to celebrate. I only wanted to spend some time with him for a simple birthday celebration. I don't think it's too much to ask for quality time with a parent. However, he doesn't understand that.  After that conversation, I continued to surf the internet and got started to play Restaurant City on Facebook. After dinner of smoked pork, some seafood, and veggies, I watched "Take the Lead"  movie on W network.  So now, I still have half an hour left of what's my birthday. Here's to a new age and may it be better than the last!

  • Allergic Reaction and Hives

There is nothing I hate more than the continuous sensation of itchiness and hives. I can't stand the itch feeling at all. Thanks to the itchy sensation, I hardly slept well last night scratching my legs and arms continuously. So how do I solve my allergic reaction and hives? I took one pill of Benadryl after consulting with a pharmacist. I know it'll work since I tried the medication before. However, I want fast relief immediately and don't think Bendaryl kicks in so fast.

I don't know what's the cause of my allergic reaction. Was it related to the food I ate last night for dinner? Was it related to this prescribed medication I'm taking ordered by the doctor? I took the prescribed medication from doctor for quite a few weeks and seemed to be okay. So that means it must be food related.  Last night I had tomatoes and egg soup along with leek dish with bacon and tofu. I don't think it's the tofu or the bacon or egg. I had tomatoes before and was perfectly fine. So that leaves leek. This is just a guess. I think it's time to go to the doctor's and get an allergy test done.  I guess I know what allergies are after the simple test.

  • Rainy Summer

It doesn't feel like summer at all where I live. It's been raining quite frequently for the past few months. Sometimes when I go outside, I still need a jacket to be warm. With the breezy and cool weather, I sometimes wish for the hot dry Southern California weather where I can wear shorts and t-shirts all summer long. Ahh, those hot hot days are good for one's soul at times!
